Chandana I've been using alcatel for a long time. 501 is my third Alcatel and there are some major draw backs in 511 compairing to others.
1.U can't easily access your most used menu items. Can not be customised like in 301
2.Can not set the welcome message
3.Have introduced an unnecessary Hang-up button. Should have used the same button to make and end calls.
4.Number in the recieved or missed call memory can not be put into the SIM directly.
5.Personal key can not be configured to any menu action. Like last call duration.
6.301's human touch has vanished. No curvy bends in the rear side. Not as comfortable as early models.
7.Battary if not firm fitted enough. Shaky.
8.Personel and Professional directories can not be deleted
9.Activation and listeng to voice memos could damage your ears.Earpiece makes a big noice when starting a audio. Not smooth on ears like 301.
10.Battary will (lithum Polimer) won't last as it claims.
11.OK button is hard on edges. Annoying
12.The plastic used in the casing is very soft. If you drop it it will easily get damaged. Early model's meterials used were very firm. Esfecially in first OneTouch Easy.
13.Voice recognition is very poor. Comairing to Nokia phone I have.
Overall it's one of the worst models except the very clear display.
So what to expect in 511...?
I will definitely shift my brand next time.

Zahidul Hasan Only one sentense can be say about this mobile "Simply Better then anyother". I m using this mobile from last 2 years and yet i didnot faced any kind of problem. Its bettery have good life also and it is very easy to operate. Thanks ericsson.

MKa ntQp: The battery lasts, i don't know, maybe 3 days in my normal use. Difficult to say what is a "general" normal use. I can live with battery without problems. Display is accurate and screensaver seems to increase battery time a lot. I do not use this for WebBrowsing or smg like that. The keypad is great and easy to use (after a short period of learning of course). Very nice in hand and I mean very nice=) The HF-speaker tone is good also. The pictures are "just OK" because lack of better optics. The flashlight is useful because it is not a small beam but wider which is useful in normal situations. I recommend this phone. The design looks hmmmm "different" when compared to fold-phones but I think that it should not be compared=) So many applications installed that i will not list them here=) (I don't use them that much) And may I say it again... this is a Durable Phone and it has what it takes to be a true Classic.
