Siemens A62 Product Reviews
Azm Hi all! Currently my phone went for service after few button on left side + left soft key failed to function - that still OK if just use the call fxn + music fxn. But I can not do typing properly and cannot lock/ unlock the phone due to non fxn * key.
Ironically this problem leads me to find that this phone actually can be used as a standalone music player/ fm radio after the sim card has been removed. So actually it has a flight mode( which I believe this phone doesn't has all along) although they can only be activated after removal of sim card unlike other brand like moto/SE which you can activate the flight mode even when the sim card is still in the phone .
Very funny after using it for more than 5 months & I found this fxn and I can't use the fxn in near time due to phone was sent for repair!!! And I feel like I bought a very good mp3 /mp4 player that cost me USD294 back in February 2006- that is still one big hole in a pocket for poorly functioning phone but with a decent music player.
The lessons for me( maybe for others too)
- never ever buy new model when they are just launched- most likely the have few ( or
many many bugs like this phone) even though
you have been waiting for the phone to come out for a year. And most of the time when you wait for few more months they will come out with new firmware and lower price too.
Now sadly I have to turn to my back up phone- my trusty 2 yrs old OT735. Suddenly
my life feels better without all the annoying bugs. No more delay/ reboot/ hung up /lost call etc-just miss the music player though. Hopefully they can fix all the problem that I have in my 853- or else that will be the last Alcatel I ever bought.
Better luck next time for me:))
<unknown> BYTHEWAY:
Do you know why Nokia, Samsung and Sony produce so many new models for the last two years and alot of them have similar design?
(just look at Nokis flip/clamshell, 6101, 6103, 6125, etc...)
SIMPLE BECAUSE, all previous year models SUCK! So Nokia, Samsung and Sony have to pump up tones of new models, to fool people.
People will think, that since there are all new models this year, they will have better quality ( HAHA, NO THEY WON'T!).
NOW LOOK AT
Sharp and Panasonic phones range very carefuly. They haven't produced so many new models, because their old models work perfectly.
ENOUGH?
DUH!
Don George..
lets see since it was changed I can attempt to help if you havent done it already. first go to the menu. and then go to the one with the axle or gear look on it and open it, then press number 2 once your in the phone settings. or just select the 2nd one you see. that is language, and then select english.
anpop works fine, but i still can't find some url for download javaloader....if somebody can help me.. :)
Big Bad Andi This phone is pants, plain and simple. It isn't what I expected from Mr Nokia. The battery life is rubbish, the navigation controls are flimsy (like the rest of the keys) and frequently I end up with the camera ready when I wanted something completely different. Then there is the problem of people complaining to me that I sound like a robot????
I called the supplier who told me I am stuffed coz I have had it a month. I got it the day before I flew to Lithuania (where I was for 2 weeks) and when I returned I tried the phone and thought perhaps I am just being a clumsy clot. But alas no, I have read the reviews with sadness wishing I had done so before purchasing this phone.
I doesn't do what it says on the tin folks. I am off to Trading Standards to see how I can reject the phone. I can reject a car after 6 months if it is rubbish so I assume my rights are the same with a phone. Anyone out there who can help in regards to this problem? I want another Nokia, but deffo not a 6111.
Good points - It's pink...........
Andi.
JONY where to get softwares from??
orangemaze The sms memory is not on the phone, sms are stored on the sim card, if you can only have 15 sms saved, then you probably need a newer sim card that can hold more memory
pinkpanther I'm quite disappointed with this model. I was hoping for more, but looks like it's just a cheap model made for vodafone, the processor is okay and so is the menu design, but construction is rather delicate, screws go right into plastic, no metal, flip is highly sensitive, looks like something made on the run with no testing whatsoever.
Very much unlike sonyericsson.
So for now I'll just stick to my latest favourite, S700, until the P990 is in ;)
Lee I bought this phone years ago on Vodafone when it first came out, kept it about 7 days then took it back! It had absolutely no signal strength on the model i had, and carried on cutting out. Im pretty sure i payed about £400 too!!! so swapped it for a 'boring' phone - one that worked better, but wasnt anywhere near as good looking.
It IS still a cheap phone however, its only chromed plastic. I recently however bought the 8800, so obviously i have always longed for this sort of style!!!
Pris Its been a month now since i have this phone(v635) must say satisfied with few complains. The only thing I have found which I am very unhappy about is how often i have to charge the battery! for crying out loud it should be a new battery in there. I charged it fully with phone switched off then by the following day had to charge again!!! is that normal don't thinks so sad that i am now stuck with a dead battery!!HEY DISAPPOINTED PAID A LOT FOR THIS PHONE!! DA*M IT
