it is necessary & did not need any drivers..
istevano I have had this phone (x820 unlocked triband) for about 6 weeks. I use with Cingular in Chicago and in the metro area, I have few problems with reception (the same spots I have issues with even with a quad band phone like my old d600). If you live outside of a metro area, you may need the 850 frequency, but tmobile's version has this. The unlocked version rocks. as for the connection and disconnect tones, settings->sound settings->extra tones->connection tone (uncheck) and it will shut off the tone on connect and disconnect. READ YOUR MANUALS!!! :)
Catani84 I really dont get you guys....I got this phone a couple of days ago and it's one of the best phones I could find on the market.Awsome features works great on 3g...and still Vodafone is one of the best gsm providers outhere...No echo...no problems ,no nothing.For the guys who complain it doesnt have a flash and a 3,2 MP camera...well...why dont you try to get your self a nice digital camera...I think some of you forget that this is still a phone.Want the highest quality mp3 sound...buy your self and IPod...want flash and best quality photos..buy yourselfs a digital camera.As a phone...this is one of the best.And by the way...display is great ...256K color themes are awsome ,mp3 player is great and the phone call quality is cristal clear.Unless you're livin in the mountains or a cave...this is the phone for you.And for those who dont like black and orange...buy yourself a pink V3...maybe you'll be satisfied then.Don't like the phone ...dont buy it.Stop complaining

Hollie Okay,i've owned my pink vk530 for a year now,so here is my honest review:
Pros-
Cute & stylish
Menu is easy with rotating pictures
Vivid colour screen
Many features in "scheduler"
Simple to use
excellent reception with vodaphone
Hardwearing
Cons-
No bluetooth
No Mp3
No realtones
GPRS never works
No audio recorder
Can only record very short videos
Memory is full after around 47 pictures & 2 40 second each videos.
No sd/memory card slot
Pretty rubbish games
OVERVIEW:Well if you are looking for a simple stylish phone to shuv in your handbag then this is the phone for you.
However,if you want a feature-packed phone to show of to your mates,then look elsewhere.
I bought thos phone for 99 pounds,which is
cheap considering todays prices,i find it
easy to use.However the second day i got it,it simply would not turn on,so,i took it
to the vodaphone shop & voila! they just turn it right on...made me look like a liar & a spoon =[
Hey,it's a phone..it dials out ...it recieves & sends texts..& recieves calls..what else do you need?...like i said,if you want modern features look elsewhere.
It has been a good phone,which excellent reception..but after a year,i'm ready to upgrade to a phone with more features.

jalkamal W600 is a great phone, i just got it couple of days ago. Just gotta quick question- i want to get rid of stupid rogers sign in the main menu, i want to either get rid of it completely or align right/left, can it be done? please help?
